Dates and locations are subject to change. Texas is a big state and we do our best to cover a lot of ground from year to year. If we're not in your neighborhood this year, chances are we'll be a bit closer in 2014.
Session I. New TSBSWE Rules Being Implemented in 2013
9:00 am - 12:00 pm 3 hours of Ethics CE
TSBSWE has implemented new rules following a required review. Changes to the rules as well as other intersecting laws, attorney general opinions, and case law will be discussed. All licensed social workers, students, and social work educators will benefit from this up-to-date information. Hard copies of TSBSWE Law and Rules will be provided.
- Changes to record-keeping requirements
- Changes to licensure requirements for military social workers
- Changes to what kind of guidance TSBSWE board or staff can provide to licensees
- Changes to Temporary, Inactive, and Emeritus license status
- Changes to abuse reporting requirements
Session II. NASW/Texas Legislative Update
1:00 pm - 4:00 pm 3 hours of CE
NASW/Texas executive director Vicki Hansen will provide updates on legislation that is currently being considered that may affect our profession and our client populations. Updates on the Social Work Reinvestment Initiative tools for educating policy makers will be provided. A review of current federal activity will also be presented.

Cancellation Policy: Cancellations must be made by the close of the online registration period, and refunds will be made less a $25 administrative fee. Once online registration has closed, NASW/Texas is unable to provide refunds. NASW/Texas reserves the right to cancel a scheduled workshop and refund the registrant’s money in the event that there are fewer than 15 pre-registered attendees at the time online registration closes.
