Legislative Advocacy

At NASW/Texas we believe in a three pronged approach to Government Affairs:

• Legislative and Regulatory Advocacy on behalf of the profession and on issues affecting clients.
• Building Relationships with Legislators and other Policy-makers through TPACE, lobbying, work with coalitions and policy analysis.
• Educating Members on the Legislative process and about policy issues through Social Work Advocacy Day, the NASW/Texas Network newsletter,  presentations to NASW/Texas Branches, classes and other groups, and through mentoring students and supervising interns.
